PROPERTY SEARCH UPDATE
We are still in the midst of finding what the Lord has set aside for the future home of this congregation. We are gathering information on several other properties in the event the door closes on the property being negotiated for now. The developer purchasing our current property again has made it clear to us that he will in no way force us out of our present facilities, and will work with us thru the entire relocation process, to make it an easy transition from our present to our new facilities when the time comes.

Farrington Road Baptist Church again is reminded that you will be kept advised of any and all things pertaining to this process, and that the church family will have the final "say-so" of any property located as we move forward.  Your questions are welcome.

As we continue to seek and follow God's will in this matter, we again thank Him for His gift to our church family.  Remember the song we are singing that expresses our faith and trust in God during this time:  "One step He leads, One step we'll follow.  God knows our needs, and He will provide.  We don't know the future, or what lies in store.  But we'll take one step, one step, and follow our Lord!"

MINISTRY VISION TEAM UPDATE
The Ministry Vision Team met on Tuesday, January 24th, with Dr. John Saunders, the Director of Missions for the Yates Baptist Association. He shared valuable information with us as we begin the process of leading the church to find the path that the Lord would have us pursue as we move on into our future. We will be reviewing present procedures and ministries, and will be recommending to the church steps to take as we feel the Lord leading us. Also we will be studying methods of reaching our neighborhoods for Jesus. We have filled most of our positions on the team. Let us all be praying for the Lord to use us both now and as we move to a new facility in the near future! All that we do must lead toward the goal of bringing the lost to Jesus!

PRESCHOOL MINISTRY
A major goal of Farrington Road Baptist Church is to provide a quality Christian teaching ministry for preschool children whenever they come to church. Anyone working with preschoolers is a teacher. Preschoolers are learning all the time and they learn from everything. The intent of our policy statements is to provide a safe and positive learning environment for each preschooler in the preschool area. Section 7 of the Preschool Teaching Ministry Guidelines states:

“7. Preschoolers and their teachers are the only persons permitted in their department rooms during teaching time. The teacher will identify herself as she greets and receives the child in the doorway. At the end of the session, a teacher will bring the child to the doorway when the parents or guardians return, to allow the teaching and learning to continue for the other preschoolers present.” This policy was adopted 7-24-2005.

Please let the signs on the doors of the preschool rooms remind you to help us make the learning environment for our preschoolers safe and undisturbed. Thank you for your cooperation.

CHURCH COUNCIL
The Church Council will meet on Thursday, February 23 at 7:00 pm for its quarterly meeting. It is urgent that all Church committees and organizations meet before this date and elect a chairperson and prepare a report to the Council. The agenda will include, among other reports, an update on THE MOVE, a report from the Church Council Ad Hoc Committee to Update Job Descriptions for Church Leadership, and updating the Church Calendar for 2012.

CHURCH BUSINESS CONFERENCE
The quarterly Church Business Conference will the held Sunday, February 26, at 6:30pm. Among other items of business, important information will be discussed concerning the purchase of the property. If you are a church member, please be present. Since the Church meets for Business Conference only once a quarter, we have a lot of work to do to keep up all that’s going on these days.

SUNDAY SCHOOL COUNCIL
The Sunday School Council will meet on Thursday, February 9, at 7:00 pm for its quarterly Council meeting. This will be an important meeting for all Sunday School teachers and officers. We will be making decisions about dates and curriculum for 2012 Vacation Bible School. These decisions are usually made at the November council meeting – so we are running a little behind. Please make every effort to attend.
